Product Information:
Sulfuric acid is very corrosive in nature. It reacts violently with water, which is the normal reaction. Hence, it is advised to use Safety Gel - S for sulfuric acid burns instead of washing with water on the affected area. Technically, this product supplies plenty of calcium ions which attract sulfuric acid and form simple water washable salts, nullifying the effect of sulfuric acid.
HF Spills / Safety:
If you spill any amount of Sulfuric Acid, vacate the lab and notify the safety department immediately. Work with quantities that allow for quick and easy cleanup by appropriate personnel, if a spill occurs. When using or pouring Sulfuric Acid, no area of the skin should be exposed. Eye protection is a must. Protective equipment should be washed after each use to remove any buildup. The locations of safety showers and eyewash stations should be clearly marked and easily accessible. A pack of Safety Gel - S should be readily available. All persons using Sulfuric Acid should be aware of the location and proper application of the gel.
